This kit solves one of the problems you face when fitting a Discovery 200TDi engine to a Series vehicle or a Defender without power steering. On the Disco engine the alternator is driven off the power steering pump. If you remove the pump, the alternator pulley does not line up with the crankshaft and water pump pulleys. This kit consists of a set of precision machined spacers, bolts, washers etc to allow you to fit the alternator and mounting bracket from your old engine to the Discovery block. All the pulleys will line up perfectly and you can use a standard Defender belt, part number ETC7939.
The kit includes alternate long bolts for imperial and metric-threaded alternator brackets. You can use the more powerful Discovery alternator instead of the Series one, but will need to turn the front plate through 120 degrees. Kit comes with comprehensive fitting instructions, including details of Disco alternator modification and wiring.
