The Land Rover parts catalogue for these vehicles is horribly complicated, with a huge number of different variations according to VIN number, axle number etc. and many parts superseded by newer ones over the years. But it can be brutally simplified down to three different types of hub: 1. Tab washer type. Stub axle has a slot along the top, with a locating tongue on the thrust washer and locking tab washer. 2. D type with outer seal. End of stub axle is 'D' shaped and there is an oil seal on the outer side of the hub. 3. D type with no outer seal. As above, but no oil seal. All three types have the same bearings, inner seal and locking nuts. The only difference is in the tab washers, and whether an outer seal is fitted. Just to be really annoying, the two D type hubs have slightly different sized stub axle ends, so they need different locking tabs...
